AEK have identified Thomas Heurtel as a potential addition in their search for another point guard.
According to reports from Greece, the two sides have made initial contact, but no agreement has been reached at this stage. The 37-year-old Frenchman is reportedly open to the possibility of joining AEK, with a move becoming more realistic if Lukas Lekavicius obtains a Greek passport.
Head coach Dragan Sakota is looking for an experienced player with the personality and quality to lead the team, and Heurtel fits that profile.
The veteran guard has made 278 EuroLeague appearances across 12 seasons with Baskonia, Anadolu Efes, Barcelona, Real Madrid and most recently ASVEL.
Heurtel played 25 EuroLeague games for the French club in 2025–26, averaging 9.2 points, 5.4 assists and 1.5 rebounds in just under 20 minutes per game. His best passing performance of the season came against Panathinaikos, when he recorded 12 assists and eight points in a narrow 79–78 defeat.
