A big upset is already registered in the semifinals of the Basketball Champions League Group 2 qualifiers, as the Germans of RASTA Vechta and newcomers Dziki Warszawa made it to the final.
RASTA Vechta didn’t have problems against Promitheas Patras, getting the 103-73 win as the Greeks couldn’t keep up.
Armaan Franklin, with 24 points, led a balanced offensive effort for the winners, who are now the favorites against Dziki Warszawa.
The Polish side beat the big favorite Rio Breogan Lugo 113-110 after a game to remember.
Point guard Joseph Girard III had a big game with 32 points and seven assists, while four more players for the winners scored in double digits.
For Breogan, Francis Alonso scored 29 points, which were not enough.
In the final of Group 1, Salon Vilpas will face CSM Oradea, and the winner will complete Group C of the regular season, which already includes AEK, Falco KC Szombathely, and Windrose Giants Antwerp.
