The Basketball Champions League Regular Season tips off next week, forcing teams to make quick roster adjustments.
After fighting through the Qualification Rounds in Samokov, Salon Vilpas secured 26-year-old Jarred Godfrey on Saturday. The Korisliiga champions needed a perimeter threat after losing Xavier DuSell, who underwent finger surgery following a preseason injury. Standing 1.96 meters, the American guard is blending in with Mikael Aalto, Karl Chavis, Benjamin Granstrom, Eero Innamaa, D.J. Jeffries, Mikko Koivisto, Aamos Laavainen, Riku Laine, Sebastian Lindberg, Simeon Stefanovic, and Leland Walker. They will compete in Group C against AEK, Falco Szombathely, and Windrose Giants Antwerp.
Saturday movement also included Hapoel Maoz Daniel Holon. The Israeli side brought in 33-year-old guard Lester Medford Jr. on a short-term deal, shortly after parting ways with forward Idan Zalmanson. The veteran of 16 Champions League games enters a lineup already featuring Shahar Amir, Netanel Artzi, Liran Azoulay, Claudell Harris Jr., Sam Iorio, Brandon Johns Jr., Yair Kravitz, Greg Lee III, Yam Nevo, Ori Ofir, Liad Shmuel, Itai Shnaps, Adama Sanogo, Rivaldo Soares, Drew Thelwell, Idan Weissbach, and Skylar Wicks. Under head coach Predrag Krunic, they face a challenging Group F schedule featuring Cholet, Spartak Office Shoes, and Rasta Vechta.
Roster adjustments stretched to Poland. Legia Warszawa announced on Friday that they have released Michael Christmas upon mutual agreement. Among the 32 regular-season participants split into eight equal groups, the back-to-back Orlen Basket Liga champions are in Group B, opposite Cibona, Galatasaray MCT Technic, and SIG Strasbourg.
