The Basketball Champions League has officially named Rytas forward Gytis Radzevicius the Player of the Week for Week 1 of the 2026–27 season.
The league confirmed the nod on Friday after the Lithuanian winger captured the top spot in the 24-hour fan vote.
Radzevicius, a veteran of 57 BCL appearances, locked down the weekly award with a huge double-double against Sabah in Arena Vilnius on Tuesday. He racked up 21 points and 12 rebounds while dishing out three assists and forcing one steal. Most impressively, he played a clean game to earn a 30 efficiency rating. His efforts triggered a rally for the Vilnius squad, placing him at the front of the Team of the Week alongside Khalif Battle, Frank Bartley IV, Mohamed Diarra, and Willy Hernangomez.
Leading Group A with a 1–0 record, Rytas turns its focus to a demanding road test in France. The club travels to meet Nanterre 92 next Tuesday. The game tips off at the Palais des Sports Maurice Thorez, where the hosts hope to rebound from an opening overtime loss. Radzevicius will be looking to keep his hot streak going, while Nanterre aims to upset the reigning titleholders in front of their home crowd.
Before continuing continental play, they return to domestic duties. The upcoming assignment is against Neptunas in Vilnius this Saturday. The team coached by Nedas Pacevicius is tasked with jump-starting their Betsson LKL Regular Season campaign after a 0–1 start in Lithuania’s top-tier league.
