The 2026–27 season of the Basketball Champions League, powered by Ameresco SUNEL, continued with eight games on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, the league revealed the Team of the Week upon reviewing the top individual performances.

The squad consists of Windrose Giants Antwerp’s Enoch Cheeks, Galatasaray MCT Technic’s newcomer KJ Simpson Jr., Falco-Vulcano Szombathely’s Zoltan Perl, FC Porto’s James Woodard, and Asisa Joventut’s Emir Sulejmanovic.

The Belgian champions extended their unbeaten start across all competitions to start the new season, handing AEK a historic defeat. Besides their sixth consecutive win, the 27-point margin was the heaviest home loss in the Greek side’s tournament history. Antwerp also became just the fourth club to open their campaign with 15 or more made three-pointers in consecutive games. In all this, Cheeks posted a 17-point, 13-rebound double-double.

Galata secured their first victory of their ongoing continental journey in a successful debut for Manuchar Markoishvili, the team’s seventh head coach in the BCL. Simpson sparked the lineup off the bench, delivering 17 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.

In Hungary, Perl broke two records. He now holds the record for most career 20-point games with 19. He also extended his double-figure scoring streak to 21 straight games. The 31-year-old guard recorded 23 points, nine rebounds, and five assists for Szombathely to beat Salon Vilpas. The result snapped a seven-game losing skid.

Porto finally entered the Champions League win column by defeating Bnei Penlink Herzliya in Bulgaria. Woodard put in 17 points, a personal best in the tournament.

Joventut kept their perfect home record intact by edging Telekom Baskets Bonn. They overcame a halftime deficit for the first time in 17 league outings. Sulejmanovic provided 17 points in just 21 minutes.

Fans can now vote online for the Player of the Week. The BCL will announce the winner on Friday.
