It is now official that Greg Brown has suffered a major injury, specifically a torn Achilles tendon.

The 25-year-old American power forward of AEK was injured in the match against Panathinaikos just hours earlier, and unfortunately, the worst fears have been confirmed.

Brown will undergo surgery, and it is evident that the season ends very prematurely for him.

AEK’s announcement

“Unfortunately, the worst has been confirmed…

The unfortunate Greg Brown has suffered a rupture of the Achilles tendon in the right ankle and will undergo surgery tonight by the head of AEK BC’s Medical Team, Dr. Iraklis Patsopoulos, at Mediterraneo Hospital.

Our American athlete was injured during the match against Panathinaikos, having managed to play only 8 minutes…

Teammates, coaches, staff, and the management of AEK BC stand by Greg.”
