Estudiantes got an important road win against AEK (79-87) in their return to the European competitions.

After two consecutive defeats in Liga Endesa, the Spanish side “woke up” in Athens. After a spectacular run in the first quarter (15-31), the team coached by Salva Maldonado, showed that they knew how to manage their advantage.

Despite a great effort showed by Delroy James, who finished the game with a double-double (23 points and 10 boards), AEK couldn’t manage to take the lead after reducing the deficit.

The key: With the Greek team in the middle of a comeback, Omar Cook took responsibility and hit a couple of key baskets that decided the game.

The star: Former Euroleague champion, Sylven Landesberg scored 28 points in an awesome performance, but it was teammate Alec Brown, who took led his team in the first quarter, the decisive one in the game, recording 24 points with a 29 efficiency rating.
