Nymburk got one more win in an exciting game in Day 3 of Basketball Champions League

The Czech side prevailed against Bonn 89 – 87 after overtime. The Germans tried their best, but are still winless in Basketball Champions League this season.

A great defensive effort in the second quarter allowed Nymburk to have a three-point lead after 20 minutes (35 – 32 at the half). The visiting team was able to maintain the lead for almost the entire game, however, a 6 – 0 run for Bonn send the game to overtime.

With the score tied and seven seconds remaining, Eugene Lawrence made a layup to give Nymburk the win. Josh Mayo had the chance to win the game with a three-pointer but Jaromir Bohacik blocked the shot.

Malcolm Hill scored 21 points and Nemanja Djurisic added 19 for the hosts.

The key: Nymburk outscored Bonn in transition. The Germans couldn’t stop the easy buckets and received 23 fast break points.

The star:  Petr Benda of Numburk led all scorers with 24 points.
