Avellino prevailed over Oostende 66-57 at home despite some hiccups in the first minutes of the game.

After a slow start, Avelino was trailing 27-18 at the end of the first quarter. The hosts knew they needed better defense so they allowed Oostende to score just 30 points in the rest of the game. The visitors didn’t have a proper response for the rock-solid defense and they are going back home with a bitter taste.

The Key: Defensive effort secured a victory for the Italians as they allowed just 6 points in the second quarter and 11 points in the last one.

The Star: The American power forward Dez Wells was unstoppable tonight hitting 8/12 from the field and scoring 20 points.

Maarten Leunen helped Avelino as well with grabbing 11 rebounds and adding 7 points.

Avellino now moved up to a 2-1 record as Oostende fell down to a 1-2.
