Besiktas edges Nymburk on the road

In Day 4 of the Basketball Champions League, Besiktas prevailed on the road against Nymburk.

Besiktas Sompo Japan prevailed over CEZ Nymburk with 70 – 64 on the road. The Turkish team remains on top of the standings after improving to a 3-1 record while the Czechs are now at 2-2.

The guests defended the paint in the first half but Nymburk found in three-pointers the way to lead at the half (31 – 36). Jon Diebler and Besiktas started hot the third quarter dropping shots beyond the arc and headed to the final period with a 9 point lead (55 – 46).

Besiktas had the chance to close the game but they allowed some thriller points (66 – 61, 38′) towards the end.

The key: Third quarter was a different story. Besiktas controlled the tempo of the game and performed great in both rims (24 – 10).

The star: D.J. Strawberry led all scorers in the game with 18 while Kyle Weems finished with a double-double (10 points and 10 rebounds). Petr Benda was close with 11 and 9 for the hosts.
