Iberostar Tenerife defeated PAOK 79 – 74 on the road in what was a quite close contest. The Spaniards improved to a 4-1 record with their fourth straight win while the Greek team fell to 1-4.

The defending champions started the game “red hot” scoring fluidly from the three-point range but PAOK fought back to make it just a 6-point game at the break (42 – 36).

The hosts remained persistent but never led until the last minute despite being close in the scoreboard. Nico Richotti quickly responded putting the visitors up before the free-throw “Russian Roulette” in which Tenerife preserved its lead.

The key: With the game on the edge, the reigning champions’ captain took the important shot and made it. Nico Richotti was decisive scoring the critical bucket.

The star: Richotti finished with 22 points and 5 assists leading Tenerife to the win. Mike Tobey also contributed with 15 and 7 rebounds.

Lucky Jones had 15 points and 8 boards for the hosts while Dimitrios Katsivelis dropped 16.
