Besiktas Sompo Japan defeated Telekom Baskets Bonn 74–73 on the road in what was a more than a close contest. The Turkish team improved to a 5-1 record with their fifth straight win while the German team fell to 1-5.

The key: With four seconds remaining Ryan Boatright collected an offensive rebound and made the shot to put his team in front. Josh Mayo had the chance for the game-winner for Bonn but he missed.

It was a highly competitive matchup from the first half which ended with Besiktas leading by three (44-41).

The third quarter began with a 19-2 run for Bonn. With one minute remaining they achieved the biggest lead of the game (46 – 60). The hosts’ defense allowed just one basket in the first nine minutes of the second half.

The star: Boatright made the decisive bucket but also scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Augusto Lima added 14 and 8 for the winners.
