Besiktas got its sixth consecutive win in Basketball Champions League after defeating Nanterre.

Besiktas Sompo Japan defeated Nanterre 92 with 79 – 74 in Istanbul to keep its six-game winning streak alive. The Turkish team was up during the entire game and improved to a 6-1 record to lead Group D while the French squad is now 5-2 in the standings.

The hosts “choked” Nanterre through their defense in the first quarter (21 – 12) and then proceeded to slightly increase their lead at the end of the half (42 – 31).

However, the visitors cut the deficit to just one point with Jamal Shuler doing it all (66 – 65, 35′). Nanterre’s captain led his team with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The key: With the game close, Besiktas went into a 10 – 1 run and decided the game with one minute left.

The star: Jon Diebler had 16 points and Kyle Weems was close to a double-double with 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the winners over Nanterre.
