Sidigas Avellino couldn’t defend its home court and was defeated by Telekom Baskets Bonn 69 – 61. The Italians fell to a 3-4 record while Bonn registered its second win after Day 7 on Basketball Champions League.

The hosts struggled with their shooting in the first half (34% FG) and Bonn took advantage of this to go to the locker rooms with a 39 – 32 lead.

Avellino slightly improved in the third quarter but the visitors kept the lead (54 – 47). With one minute left Bonn was leading by just 4 points and then T.J. DiLeo “locked” the game with a two-point jump shot.

The key: Avellino didn’t win any of the quarters and ended with a poor 23-of-61 shooting. Dez Wells with 16 points for them was one of the few redeeming qualities of the team.

The star: Josh Mayo led all scorers with 17 points and Julian Gamble also contributed via 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners.
