Aris grabbed a road victory over Zielona Gora 80-72 in Poland on Day 8 of the Basketball Champions League. The Greek team now stands on a solid 4-4 record. On the other side, Zielona Gora sank to a 2-6 record as this was their fourth straight loss.

The visiting squad showed their intentions early in the game as they won first quarter 15-12 and were able to extend that lead to a 48-42 after 20 minutes of action.

The Key: Zielona was able to fight back in the third quarter as they overtook the lead 47-46. Just when it seemed that Aris was losing its winning ground they made an 8-0 run late in the third period and never looked back.

The hosts didn’t have the energy to stand up for another comeback in the last quarter as they lost that period 24-21.

The Star: Lefteris Bochoridis was the one who highlighted this game as he had game-high 22 points and was 1 assist away (9) from recording a double-double.

Once again Vladimir Dragovic was the first name in Zielona Gora’s book with 16 points and 7 boards and yet once again that didn’t cut it for the Polish team.
