Banvit grabbed another victory as they prevailed over Petrol Olimpija 65-57 on the road. This is the sixth victory for Saso Filipovski’s team as they now stand on a 6-3 record in the Basketball Champions League.

The Key: Defense, defense, defense. The visiting squad started the game with a rock-solid defense by allowing Olimpija to score only 10 points in the first quarter.

Banvit stated their intentions early in the game winning the first quarter 25-10. The great first quarter pushed them to a 37-25 lead after 20 minutes of the game.

After a balanced third quarter, things got hot in the last one. The home team made a 10-2 run to close the gap to 53-51 with five minutes left on the clock. Banvit didn’t allow a comeback as they fought back with a quick 6-0 run to close the game.

The Star: The former Olimpija’s member Gaspar Vidmar was leading Banvit tonight with points 14 points and 4 rebounds and Tony Taylor had 13 points and 7 boards.

Jordan Morgan and Dan Oliver had a good game for Olimpija but didn’t help Slovenians to win the game tonight. Oliver finished the game with a double-double scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 boards and Morgan was one rebound away from a double-double. He had 18 points and 9 boards as his team lost the game.

Olimpija now falls to a 3-6 record as this was their first loss in the last three matches in the Basketball Champions League.
