EWE Baskets Oldenburg ended Dinamo Sassari’s winning streak with a comfortable win at home (90 – 72). The Italians were defeated for the first time after three consecutive victories (seven including their Legabasket games) while the hosts jumped to a 6-3 record.

After a close first quarter (23 – 21), the Germans improved defensively. They allowed just 12 points to take a 14-points advantage at the half (47 – 33).

The key: A 9-0 run ending the second quarter was really important. Maxime De Zeeuw and Rickey Paulding paced Oldenburg in the first half with 12 points apiece.

Nothing changed after the break. The hosts increased the lead – 67 – 47 with 10 minutes left – and enjoyed a pleasant night.

The star: Oldenburg’s captain Paulding led all scorers with 25 points. Big man Rasid Mahalbasic had 8 points, 7 boards and 7 assists for the hosts.

Dyshawn Pierre performance wasn’t enough for Sassari (16 p. 5 r.). Scott Bamforth shot just 1-of-10 from the field.
