Nanterre won double-overtime game in Italy

Nanterre got the huge road win against Avellino in a more than a thrilling game on Day 9 of the Basketball Champions League.

Nanterre 92 ended its losing streak by beating Sidigas Avellino 106-102 after an amazing battle on the road. Both teams gave everything they had as the game was decided after double overtime.

With this win, Nanterre moved up to a 6-3 record and Avellino fall to a 4-5.

With 10 seconds left on the clock in the regular time, the score was tied at 80-80 and Nanterre had the ball. However, Heiko Schaffartzik turned it over and the game went to extra time. After 45 minutes of action, the score was still tied at 93-93 and in the second overtime, Nanterre found a way to victory thanks to Jamal Shuler who had 23 points.

The Star: Shuler stepped up in the second overtime and he finished the game with 23 points. He was lacking only one assist to record a double-double. Lahaou Konate added 17 points and 8 boards for the winners.

Not enough: The Ukranian center Fesenko was absolutely fantastic tonight as Nanterre couldn’t stop him. Avellino’s big guy had double-double 28 points and 11 boards which were enough for 35 in PIR. His teammate Jason Rich also recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 assists, but all that was not enough.
