Avellino jumped to a 5-5 record in the Basketball Champions League after prevailing over Oostende on the road 61-51. The Italians bounced back after losing the game in last round at home.

The Key: The second half performance was enough for Avellino to register their fifth victory in the competition. They were dominating in defence especially in the third quarter in which they allowed only 7 points to Oostende.

Despite a solid first half and small lead (31-29) Oostende fall short in this game as they couldn’t follow the Italians in the second half. Their offence wasn’t on the needed level as they scored only 20 points in the last 20 minutes

The Star: Thomas Scrubb was leading the winning team with 12 points and 8 rebounds followed by Andrea Zerini’s 11 points and 7 boards.

Tonye Jekiri was two points away from recording a double-double as he had 8 points and 12 rebounds, but that didn’t mean much to Oostende tonight.

With the second loss in a row, Oostende falls to a 4-6 record.
