MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg was too strong for Ventspils tonight as they crushed them at home 84-68. With this win, the Germans jumped to an impressive 9-2 record in the Basketball Champions League.

The Star: Dwayne Evans had a game-high 20 points and missed only three shots from the field (8/11) making sure his team was getting another victory.

The Key: It seemed like this could be a close game after the first half in which Oldenburg built a small lead (38-33). In the third quarter, the Germans punished every mistake that the visiting team had made. Oldenburg’s offense was working like a clock as they nailed 34 points in that period.

After that, it was clear that the hosts will record their ninth victory of the season. Ventspils couldn’t keep the pace as they had no real chance for a comeback.

Not enough: Ingus Jakovičs scored 17 points for the visiting squad, but that couldn’t save the day for them. With this loss, the Latvians slipped to a 5-6 record in the BCL
