Three in a row for Estudiantes after defeating Olimpija in Ljubljana for the Basketball Champions League.

Movistar Estudiantes got the win in Ljubljana over Petrol Olimpija 72 – 57. The winning side is closer to the Basketball Champions League playoffs after their seventh win in eleven games while the Slovenians fell to a 4-7 record.

Olimpija won the first game between the two sides in the Spanish capital by six points and Estudiantes wanted revenge. The guests won the first quarter 26-17 and they continued in control the entire time. They were leading at halftime (39 – 31) and also in the third quarter (56 – 45) and they kept a double-digit advantage until the end.

The key: After a great offensive first period, the Spaniards focused their efforts in defense. “Estu” received just 26 points in the second half.

The star: Nik Caner-Medley led the winners and also flirted with the double-double (17 points and 9 rebounds).

Talor Battle was the only men in Olimpija that reached 10 points.
