Stelmet Zielona Gora still has chances to play in the Champions League playoffs after beating Sidigas Avellino 64 – 57 on the road. The guests got in total their fourth win of the season while Avellino stands at a 5-6 record.
The key: The Polish champions didn’t allow easy points in the first quarter and they took a 19 – 7 lead. The Italians couldn’t recover after that.
Of course, the hosts improved offensively and they cut the lead to single digits at the half (36 – 28), but this was far from enough and the guests were in control until the final buzzer.
The star: Vladimir Dragicevic led the Polish side in scoring with 16 points and Przemyslaw Zamojski contributed with 11.
Jason Rich scored 16 points for Avellino in the second half.
