SIG Strasbourg ended their three-game losing streak in the Basketball Champions League. They were better than Umana Reyer Venezia at home winning a close game 70-67.

The hosts were off to a solid start winning the first quarter 23-17. However, the Italians responded quickly in the second period with a 19-14.

The Key: The French team couldn’t allow another defeat and they were aware of it. They stepped up in the second half especially in the defense allowing only 31 points in the last 20 minutes.

The Italians found a way to bounce back down the last stretch cutting the lead to the three points, but they couldn’t complete the comeback.

The Star: Miro Bilan really enjoyed tonight’s game as he registered a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. Mike Bramos had game-high for Venezia with 14 points, but he wasn’t able to push his team to the victory tonight.

After this game, these two teams are tied at 6-5 record after eleven weeks of action.
