Umana Reyer Venezia prevailed over Petrol Olimpija 84 – 67 at home and improved to a 7-5 record.

With this win, the Italian champions are now tied with Bayreuth, Estudiantes and Strasbourg in Group B. Three of these teams will advance to the Round of 16.

The visiting side was trailing just by 4 at the break (39 – 35) thanks to Gregor Hrovat’s 15 first-half points. But then Venezia took over.

The key: The hosts had a breakout start in the third quarter and Venezia took a 61 – 43 (28′) lead. Olimpija never reduced that double-digit difference.

Hrovat scored game-high 24 points for Olimpija but his team wasn’t competitive enough in the second half.

The star: MarQuez Haynes led the winners with 16 points (5-of-7 from beyond the arc). Mike Bramos added 14 while Stefano Tonut finished with 11 points and 7 boards.
