AEK past the Slovenian champs to stay alive in the playoff race 80 – 71. The Greeks had an impressive second half and they jumped to a 7-6 record while Petrol Olimpija won’t make the FIBA Europe Cup.

The guests had a decent start (20 – 18 at the end of the first) but they struggled offensively in the second quarter and Olimpija took a 33 – 36 lead at the break. AEK had an incredible ending of the third quarter and they took back the lead (57 – 54) with 10 minutes left.

The key: The Greek team had a great third quarter but the start of the fourth was even better. A 12-2 run decided the game and AEK escaped with the win.

The star: AEK’s new acquisition Vince Hunter paced the winners with 20 points.

Gregor Hrovat led the home side in scoring with 15 while Devin Oliver finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 steals.
