CEZ Nymburk got its third straight win by defeating Stelmet Zielona Gora 84 – 70 at home but the Polish team still managed to advance to the Round of 16. Bonn helped Zielona Gora qualify with a win over Avellino.

The key: After an even first quarter (20 – 21), Nymburk went into an impressive 15 – o run starting the second. The Czech team was 47 – 35 in front at the break.

With Avellino winning in Germany, Zielona Gora also needed a victory but Nymburk’s defense was too good for the Polish champions. Zielona Gora’s late reaction wasn’t enough to make them compete for the game but Bonn’s victory sent them through the playoffs.

The star: Kendrick Ray led the winners with 21 points while Dardan Berisha added 17. Eugene Lawrence contributed with 12 points and 5 assists.

Once again, Vladimir Dragicevic was impressive with 16 points and 8 boards but Zielona couldn’t win its fifth straight game.
