Sassari closes the regular season with a win over Enisey

Dinamo Sassari pushed Enisey out of the Europe Cup in the last game of the Basketball Champions League group stage.

Dinamo Sassari prevailed over Enisey Krasnoyarsk in Italy 101 – 94 in a truly fun-to-watch game. The Russian squad needed a win to fight for a Europe Cup spot but the lost and with it missed their last chance.

The victorious hosts finished tied with Murcia in Group A standings. (7-7 record) but they won’t make the playoffs.

Josh Bostic made his debut in Sassari scoring 19 points in the first half while Vitali Liutych responded with 17 (the Russian finished with game-high 24). At the break, the Italians were up by 2 (50 – 48) with both teams dropping points easily. The hosts reached a double-digit lead early in the second half and didn’t face any problems until the end.

The key: Bostic committed his fourth foul early in the third period but six players scored in double figures for Sassari.

The star: Darko Planinic and Josh Bostic scored 19 points each for the winners. Dyshawn Pierre added 17 and 7 rebounds.
