Monaco wins it at the buzzer but Zielona Gora stays alive

The Monegasques enjoyed a 23-point lead in Zielona Gora but the Polish champs reacted in the second half.

AS Monaco tried to decide their playoff matchup in the first leg but Zielona Gora was strong enough to leave emotion for the next week.

Monaco escaped with a close victory (84 – 82) thanks to Gerald Robinson. The point guard made the buzzer beater to get the win and also led the winners with 17 points.

The Polish champions were overwhelmed since the early beginning. Roca team finished the first quarter with a 7-0 run (25 – 17) and they continue strong in the second. The Monegasques reached a 41 – 21 lead with 5 minutes left in the period but the hosts had something to say.

Martynas Gecevicius paced Zielona Gora in the third quarter and they reduced the deficit. The Lithuanian player led all scorers with 23 points and Vladimir Dragicevic added 18 and 10 boards. The Polish team even flirted with overcoming the result in the last quarter but Monaco kept the lead.
