In a game that had everything, Murcia defeated Karsiyaka in Turkey for Game 1 of the quarterfinals.

In Game 1 of the Basketball Champions League quarterfinals, UCAM Murcia defeated Pinar Karsiyaka away from home 65 – 79, thanks to Augusto Lima‘s great performance.

The visitors started the game off well in the first period with a 13-24 start, as Augusto Lima was leading the way. The key to the game, however, was the second quarter.

Lima was incredibly efficient in the first half, with 19 points (9/10 FG), while Ovie Soko (13 pts), was also helping him. The Spanish side went up by 19 points at half-time (30-49), shooting a high 64.5% from the field.

In what was an hour of the half-time break due to scoreboard problems, in the third period, the hosts tried to come back but eventually fell short. After talking to Eurohoops about how Murcia is a team that’ll keep fighting, Augusto Lima led his team to an important result, finishing with 24 points, and seven rebounds. For the losing side, Jarrod Jones finished with 16.

In the final minutes, fans also got involved in the game, as they started throwing objects at Murcia’s player Sadiel Rojas who was also ejected from the contest.
