After clinching the BCL title, Aggelopoulos was faced with the question of AEK’s limit: “We participated in Basketball Champions League and this is the title we got. As for the Greek League, our opponents participate in EuroLeague. The discussion of our limit is long.”

Speaking of EuroLeague, AEK’s owner stated that his team can’t think of joining the competition: “I will disagree that EuroLeague is the top competition. At this point, there’s no reason to discuss EuroLeague, since there’s no 10-year contract for us on the table. There’s no point to participate for a couple of years”, he told the Greek media.

“EuroLeague doesn’t have the athletic criteria that we fellow. I think that the participation to European competitions should come through the national championships”, Aggelopoulos concluded.
