AEK Athens beat Nymburk after double overtime (94-93) and the Greeks are clearly in trouble despite the win in Group C of the Basketball Champions League.

Eugene Lawrence missed the best chance to give the lead to Nymburk almost at the buzzer of the overtime and steal the game. AEK, which is on paper the better team, got 23 points by Giannoulis Larentzakis and 21 by Jonas Maciulis, but simply couldn’t control the game, despite a 30-17 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Nymburk came back in the second half and send the game to overtime. Vojtech Hruban lost twice the chance to win the game in the end of regulation (82-82) and also at the end of the first overtime (86-86) during which the partial score was 4-4.

Hruban with 25 points and Jaromir Bohacik with 23 were the top scorers of the hosts who dropped to 0-2, while AEK has now a 1-1 record.
