Keifer Sykes and Matt Costello put on strong performances and led Avellino past Ludwigsburg in Basketball Champions League Day 2.

Keifer Sykes and Matt Costello combined for 47 points in total and led Sidigas Avellino to a 96-77 road win against MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg for Group A of Basketball Champions League. With this victory, Avellino improved to 2-0 while the German team still awaits the first win (0-2).

Sykes scored game-high 26 points while Costello was right behind with 21. Caleb Green and Demetris Nichols added 14 points each. On the other side, Kelan Martin scored 17 points.

Avellino created their first double-digit lead early in the second quarter and it kept increasing until the halftime break (47-31). They kept that momentum in the second half as well increasing the lead to as much as 20 points (69-49) and leaving no opportunity for a comeback to the rival.
