Umana Reyer Venezia entered the last period leading by five (52-47) but with all said and done, Iberostar Tenerife got the 72-65 road win in the big game of Basketball Champions League Group B.
Thad McFadden led the charge with 21 points and Colton Iverson was the only other player in double digits with 10 points for the winning side. MarQuez Haynes scored 19 for Venezia but it was not enough.
With 40 seconds left and the score tied at 65, Tim Abromaitis got the offensive rebound and the goal-foul to make the score 68-65. That proved to be the most important play of the night with Venezia missing three shots behind the arc in the remaining time and the Spaniards keeping their 4-0 record. The Italians dropped to 3-1.
