Neptunas Klaipeda didn’t let go of the lead until the end as they beat Petrol Olimpija 97-88 on Day 5 of Basketball Champions League.

Tomas Delininkaitis scored 20 points for the victors while Gytis Masiulis helped with 16. Jerai Grant was one rebound away from a double-double as he grabbed the ball nine times and banked 16 points.

For Olimpija, Miha Lapornik had a great night with game-high 22 points in addition to Blaz Mesicek’s 16.

Except for the early 3-2 lead for Olimpija, Neptunas was the one holding the advantage for the rest of the game. They were up 22-12 during the first and then 38-21 during the second quarter but Olipmija decreased the deficit before halftime (56-47).

Neptunas improved their lead to 70-53 after the break and although the hosts caught up (86-80), they couldn’t go any further and Neptunas came out victorious.

Neptunas now holds a 3-2 record in Group D while Olimpija stayed at one win (1-4).
