MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg grabbed their first win in Basketball Champions League this season by edging UCAM Murcia with a narrow 81-80 home win on Day 6.

Murcia had the minimum 80-79 lead and the ball but Lamont Da’Sean Jones stole it and made a layup putting Ludwigsburg in front. In the following offense, Milton Doyle took a shot for the win but couldn’t make it and the German squad came out victorious.

Jones finished the game with 20 points while Jordon Crawford banked game-high 21 (3/4 triples). Kelan Martin was right behind with 19 points (5/8 triples).

For Murcia, Ovie Soko put on a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds while Emanuel Cate scored 15 points as well.

It was a fairly balanced game throughout all forty minutes. In fact, it was a tie at halftime (41-41) while Murcia had a bit of an upper hand in the second half (66-58). However, Ludwigsburg bounced back (71-71) and brought the game to an interesting finish.

Ludwigsburg now holds a 1-5 record in Group A while this was Murcia’s first loss in BCL this season (5-1).
