A tightly contested affair took place Wednesday night at “PalaDozza”. After numerous lead changes in the Round 6 Group D match of the Basketball Champions League, Virtus Bologna took over in the last quarter and went on for a 87-81 win over Strasbourg.

Kevin Punter was clutch down the stretch. The 25-year-old American guard drowned six three-pointers and finished the match with 26 points. Mardy Collins got 20 points for the losing side, while Jarell Eddie scored 11 points in his BCL debut.

The Italians become the second team in Basketball Champions League history that started its first season with 6-0. Vincent Collet’s team dropped to 4-2.
