Aleksandar wNikitovic will replace Zoran Martic at the helm of Petrol Olimpija.

Petrol Olimpija and coach Zoran Martic agreed to part ways while his place will be taken by Aleksandar Nikitovic for the rest of the season, the club announced.

Nikitovic wore the jerseys of Crvena Zvezda, Obrenovac, Umka, Doboj and CSU Sibiu as a player and worked under Dusko Vujosevic in Partizan as an assistant coach, back in 2004. In 2011 he joined Crvena Zvezda as an assistant and took over the head coach position for a short while.

He was also an assistant in the Serbian national team working for Duda Ivkovic’s staff during two EuroBaskets (2009, 2011) and a World Cup (2010). Serbia won a silver medal in 2009.

Olimpija started the season with a 1-5 record in Group D of Basketball Champions League while in ABA League they won two games out of eight.
