Filou Oostende started furiously and didn’t allow SIG Strasbourg to make a comeback as they recorded a 64-61 road win on Day 7 of Basketball Champions League.
It was a good defensive effort from both sides and only one player on each team scored in double-digits. For Oostende, it was Chase Fieler with 17 points and on the other side, Mardy Collins scored 17 as well.
Oostende had a strong start leading 20-8 after ten minutes but Strasbourg closed the gap a bit before halftime (31-26). It was pretty much the same story in the second half as well. Oostende went ahead 45-30 late in the third quarter and although Strasbourg managed to come closer in the final period, it was too late to change the outcome.
Oostende improved to 2-5 while Strasbourg stands at 4-3 record in Group D.
