Crawford, Ludwigsburg grab road win in Nizhny

Jordon Crawford helped MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg come out on top against Nizhny Novgorod on the road in Basketball Champions League.

Neither team could gain a significant advantage but MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg stayed calmer in the final minutes grabbing a 76-74 road win against Nizhny Novgorod on Day 7 of Basketball Champions League.

Jordon Crawford led the winning side with 19 points and eight assists in addition to Owen Klassen’s 15. For Nizhny, Kendrick Perry scored 16 and Christopher Czerapowicz 13 points.

Ludwigsburg had a 25-19 lead after ten minutes but Nizhny didn’t allow them to go any further and kept the game balanced. It was a tie at halftime (39-39) and the game stayed close as neither team could gain a significant advantage. Ludwigsburg however, took the lead in the final minutes (66-65) and held on until the end for the win.

Ludwigsburg improved to 2-5 while Nizhny holds a 3-4 record in Group A.
