Streaking AEK put up a great performance on its way for the 83-70 victory against Hapoel Jerusalem in the Basketball Champions League Group C Day 8 match. The BCL title holders also secured the tiebreaking advantage over the Israelis.

The Queen built a two-digit advantage right from the start, fell behind in the second period, but reacted with a 13-point lead during the third quarter. The home team knotted it up in the beginning of the final period, before AEK’s 11-2 spurt that was enough for the “W”.

Malcolm Griffin posted 25 points with 8/10 from the field, also grabbed seven rebounds, dished four assists and added two steals. Vince Hunter followed with 16 points, eight boards and four blocks, Howard Sant-Roos finished up with 13 points and Dusan Sakota with 12. Hapoel’s James Feldeine scored 16, J’Covan Brown had 14 and TaShawn Thomas 13.

Luca Banchi’s team seventh straight BCL win brought the 7-1 total record and dropped Oded Kattache’s club to 6-2.
