Antwerp wards off Lietkabelis’ comeback effort

Antwerp kept the cool in the final minute stopping Lietkabelis’ comeback and grabbing the home win.

After a tough low-point first half, Telenet Antwerp Giants went ahead and kept the cool in the final minute for a 70-64 home win against Lietkabelis on Day 8 of Basketball Champions League. Both teams now stand at a 4-4 record in Group C.

Tyler Kalinoski scored 15 points for Antwerp in addition to Paris Lee’s 13 and Jae’Sean Tate’s ten points. On the other side, Marko Cakarevic was the only double-digit scorer with ten points.

The first half featured steel defense from both squads as Antwerp held a small 26-24 lead at the break. The hosts went ahead a bit in the third period (51-42) but Lietkabelis made it a tie at 55 halfway through the final period. However, Antwerp kept the cool and came out on top in the end.
