Olimpija jumped to a 16-point lead, but couldn’t build on it and suffered an 80-76 home loss to Promitheas. The visitors turned the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Group D Round 9 game around with 19-6 spurt in the third period and were effective enough down the stretch in order to achieve an important away victory.

Tony Meier contribution was a game-high 18 points with 6/10 from the field including 3/5 from three-point range. Jake Odum, Oleksandr Lypovyy and Michalis Tsairelis added ten points each.

Roko Badzim was the home team’s top scorer with 16 points. Jan Span started hot and ended up with 15 points. Mirza Begic notched a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double, Issuf Sanon also posted 12 points.

Two straight BCL losses were enough for Makis Giatras’ team that swept the Slovenians and rose to 6-3. Sasa Nikitovic’s club dropped to 1-8 with its fifth consecutive defeat.
