CEZ Nymburk really pushed AEK to the ropes holding the Queen’s offense during the first three quarters. The back-and-forth last quarter was a different story and led the Basketball Champions League title holders to their 80-76 win in the Regular Season Group C Round 9 match.

Dusan Sakota fired up and unlocked the Czech Champions’ defense. AEK’s captain ended up with 18 points. Vince Hunter also contributed to his team’s 8th consecutive Champions League win with 18 points.

Jonas Maciulis notched a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double. Howard Sant-Roos had 12 and Giannoulis Larentzakis posted seven more including some clutch shots down the stretch.

Glenn Cosey scored 13 points and Petr Benda poured 12 for the visitors.

The streak went on for Luca Banchi’s team, which now sits on an 8-1 BCL record. Oren Amiel’s club fell to 2-7.
