Hassan Martin’s injury created a gap in the squad, but Raoul Korner’s medi Bayreuth found a suitable replacement.

Bayreuth announced that Eric Mika is the newest addition in Raoul Korner’s roster. The 24-year-old American center signed a contract until the end of the 2018-19 season with the Basketball Champions League team.

The Germans took a look at the frontline market following Hassan Martin’s injury. The 23-year-old American forward had 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per BCL 2018-19 regular season game, also had 13.8 points and 6.3 rebounds in the easyCredit BBL.

Covering for Martin won’t be an easy task. However, Mika is coming off 3.8 points and 2.4 rebounds per 7DAYS EuroCup match, also had 5.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in LBA Serie A with Germani Brescia Leonessa.

Bayreuth will face Promitheas Patras in Greece on Wednesday (9/1) in a Basketball Champions League Group D Round 10 game. The Germans want to qualify to the Champions League playoffs, but have an uphill battle ahead.
