Except after the first basket, Avellino was the team holding the lead until the end as they recorded a 72-62 road win over Anwil on Day 10 of Basketball Champions League.
Caleb Green scored 17 points for the victors in addition to Demetris Nichols’ 16 and Keifer Sykes’ 13 points. For Anwil, Josip Sobin scored 16 and Chase Simon 14 points.
Avellino was ahead 23-15 after ten minutes and kept the distance until halftime (39-31). They broke the opponent’s resistance after the break (56-40) leading by as much as 21 points (68-47) and securing the game.
Avellino improved to 7-3 while Anwil now holds a 4-6 record in Group A.
