Prior reports have been confirmed as Brose Bamberg announced the club has officially parted ways with coach Ainars Bagatskis and assistant coach Marcelo Nicola.

The head coach role will, until further notice, be filled by Federico Perego who will be assisted by Dominik Gunthner.

“I’m happy to be able to help the club. My team and I will do everything we can to make Brose get back where it belongs. We want to go back to ‘Bamberger Basketball’, which delights fans and partners”, Perego said per official club website.

Federico Perego joined Bamberg back in 2014 and already worked as a video scout and assistant coach. In addition to the titles in Bamberg (3x champion, 1x cup winner), the 34-year-old won the 2013 Italian Supercup.
