Keifer Sykes stepped up for Sidigas Avellino in absence of Demetris Nichols and Caleb Green for a historic performance but Banvit still got a 96-88 home win on Day 12 of Basketball Champions League.

Sykes set the new record for points scored in a single game with 43 points (6-10 triples). He also added seven assists and four rebounds for 43 PIR. For the winning side, Jordan Morgan scored 24 points followed by Gary Neal’s 18.

Banvit secured a playoff spot last week and now improved to 8-4 while Avellino still isn’t safe standing at a 7-5 record in Group A.
