Seven months after appointing Javi Juarez, UCAM Murcia decided it’s time for a coaching change. The Spanish Basketball Champions League team announced on Sunday that the 49-year-old head coach was dismissed. The team thanked him for his professionalism during his tenure and went on wishing him good luck in his future endeavors.
Juarez took over last summer after winning the last two junior Spanish Championships with the youth team of Real Madrid. He since led Murcia to eleven wins in 12 BCL matches securing the top spot in Group A, but the 5-13 W-L record in his first ACB stint wasn’t good enough for him to keep his job.
