Segafredo Virtus Bologna played its first game with Aleksandar Djordjevic as the head coach and it went perfectly. They dominated Le Mans 81-58 and secured a post in the Basketball Champions League quarterfinals with a 155-132 aggregate score (Game 1 was tied at 74).

Dejan Kravic led the victors with 16 points (8-11 FG) while Kevin Punter and Filippo Baldi Rossi added 12 points each.

For Le Mans, Michael Thompson scored 13 while Valentin Bigote helped with 11 points in addition to Wilfried Yeguete’s nine points and ten boards.

Le Mans couldn’t find their three-point groove shooting 0-11 in the first half and the Italians didn’t give them any slack. Bologna went ahead 25-10 after ten minutes and went on the break with a 43-25 advantage. Djordjevic’s squad didn’t leave anything to chance after the halftime rest, increasing the lead to as much as 33 points (71-38) and closing the game in their favor.

Bologna will clash with Nanterre 92 in the quarterfinals as the French squad won both their games against Besiktas Sompo Japan.
