Brose Bamberg and AEK both focused on defense, especially in the first half of the Basketball Champions League Quarterfinals contest. The “W” was secured by Federico Perego’s side. However, Luca Banchi’s team can be happy with the 71-67 scoreline ahead of the second leg, which will be played next week in Athens.

Cliff Alexander opened the game with a couple of dunks helping the hosts start with an 8-0 run and finished with 8/13 two-pointers and 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds as well. Ricky Hickman and Augustine Rubit added 12 points apiece.

Vince Hunter only put up two points in the first half and faced foul-trouble, but ended up with 12. Dusan Sakota scored a team-high 15 points and Jordan Theodore followed with 14. Jonas Maciulis left the match in the beginning of the second period with an elbow injury.
